Concentrates or Masterbatches consist of the desired additive dispersed in high concentrations in a carrier material compatible with the plastic material to be loaded with the concentrate. The benefits of concentrates include optimum dispersion, automatic metering, reduction in wastage and elimination of cost for expensive dispersing equipments.
The process for masterbatch production involves melt homogenizing the polymer with the additives in presence of adequate wetting & dispersing agents and carriers, and finally extruding and pelletizing the product.
Masterbatch production can either be accomplished in kneader-Extruder-Pettetizer line or in a Twin Screw Extruder.

Flow Diagram for Production of Additive/Color Masterbatch |
The material which usually need masterbatching are:
- Colors and Pigments
- Fillers
- Specialty additives like Antistatic agents, nucleating agents and slip / Antiblock additives
Synergy Group provides highly efficient specially designed wetting and dispersing agents and carrier waxes for production of all types of color and white pigments including difficulty dispersible ones e.g. carbon blocks and phthalocyanines.
Besides processing additives Synergy Group also provides the bulk materials for masterbatching e.g. SN-95, SN-402, SN-403 and Calcium Stearate for cast masterbatches.
